Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow

I really wanted to like this palette, but I can't make myself do anything. This yeah my father doesn't want to celebrate Christmas, or even be in town because it reminds him of my mom too much, so he bought me a new T.V and gave me some money because he felt bad that I don't get Christmas. So what did I do? I bought other people presents and bought stuff for myself, and by stuff I mean makeup. This palette was one of the pieces I picked up.
The colors are beautiful in the pan, and the colors are coordinated wonderfully, but its just... bleh. The colors are so SHEER. Its ridiculous. And annoying. They're sheer, glittery and have glitter fallout.
The colors are super soft and incredibly blendable, but without primer, they blend right into one color, one mud color. There is so much potential with this quad it drives me nuts. I'm not losing hope though. I'm going to try this using wet brushes, and hopefully I like it better.
(Green With Envy)

(Green With Envy)

(Green With Envy)

Pros: blendable. soft. wet/dry application.
Cons: sheer. glittery. fallout. needs primer.
I'm going to keep trying this product until I get fed up enough. I've also heard good things about the other quads, so I might try those.

I LOVE the Too Face kit I got. I walked into Ulta and immediately grabbed it. The colors of the lipstick, liner and gloss are nude, which is what I was looking for and I liked how they looked on me. The lip primer works and the bag is adorable.
I got the NYX cream palette to do holiday looks or just party looks. The glitter is chunky and a tad gritty, but I like the colors and I'm sure I can make it work. Especially if I do Emilynoel83's tutorial. :)
I heard good things about the CoverGirl 4 shadow kits so i picked up 2, the colors are very light, more shadow where i have to pack on the shadow to get color and they feel a tad gritty. I guess I have to actually use before I can judge.
Can't really say anything about the mascara yet. I haven't used it but I've heard some great things about it.
I really enjoy the Maybelline lipstick. Born With It is a good nude/pinky color with some shimmer.
The Maybelline and Revlon cream shadows are amazing. They feel great and are super pigmented! And the colors look amazing. I am very pleased with this buy.
I've been looking for more of the Wet 'n' Wild palettes and have been having now luck, because they are so wanted, they're always sold out. But today all but Lust was sold out, which was good for me because that is one of the ones I wanted! :)
I just wanted more eye brushes so i didn't have to clean mine after every use. These were a dollar and are soft and seem sturdy. Good buy.

CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Eye Shadow

I bought this because I am obsessed with the new trend of complementing shadows in a palette that are suppose to make your eye color pop. I love my hazel eyes so anything to help them shine I have to try.
I convinced my cousin to get this and saw how the colors were on her and decided I should get one for myself. She had the Vibrant Browns, and the instructions on the back of the case works for that color, for the hazels on the other hand, its better to find your own way to put it on because the instructions make it look awful. (on me at least)
I like the two lightest shades, the green and then a butter-cream color. The colors are sheer and shimmery, but the green looks amazing in the corner of my eye and the butter-cream is a good highlight. The light brown/taupe is just blah. Its boring and doesn't really do anything for me. And the darker brown/red brown is a beautiful pigmented color but has too much fallout to be the liner shade its intended to be. You also definitely need a primer unless you like your eyeshadow fading away.
(Majestic Hazel)

(Majestic Hazel)

(Majestic Hazel)

Pros: pigmented. beautiful colors. makes you eyes pop
Cons: fallout. needs primer. bad instructions.
I will keep using this, but not how CoverGirl is instructing to use it. And with a primer the colors are great.

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 3 Kit Shadows

I bought this on a whim when I was taking my cousin to Ulta to help her pick out some new makeup, since I have that store memorized. And since i was in a makeup store, I had to get something(s). :)
This was during the time where i decided I'm going to start wearing eyeshadow, because I never really wore it before. I had heard some great reviews on CoverGirl shadows, especially this one. And for all the raving about this product, it fell a little short to me.
They were not as pigmented as i expected. It is buildable, but even then, its still a sheer, very shimmery color. The darkest color is the most pigmented, because its dark and it is a nice orangey/brown, I kinda like it.
My favorite out of the three is the lightest shade. A nice, light, lemony shade that is perfect in the corner of my eyes or as a highlighter.
The absolute worst (to me) is the medium shade, which looks like a beautiful copper but turned out to look just plain orange on me. Its ugly, hands down. Also, it feels gritty compared to the others.
(Golden Sunset)

(Golden Sunset)

(Golden Sunset)

Pros: good highlight color, good dark all over lid color. 2 out of 3 feel soft.
Cons: awful flimsy packaging. Awful medium color. gritty medium color. bad applicators.
Bottom line is I will only repurchase this if i cannot find the shades in this kit that i like on their own. I might try the other colors that are offered but I'm not sure.

NYC Individual Eyes Shadow Palette.

I bought this palette on a whim. I was strolling along during my weekly RiteAid trip looking for a loose champagne shadow, which NYC had. I noticed that everything from NYC was on sale and was eying this palette. My boyfriend told me since its all on sale to just get it, giving me that push. I was so excited for this palette that I'm sure I was setting myself up for disappointment, because I was disappointed.
I truly wanted to like this product. 4 shadows that complement my eye color, a primer, an illuminator and a shadow brush all in one?! That sounded too good to be true, and it was. The shadows are chalky, and I mean annoyingly chalky. You have to rub your brush back and forth the get the color on, which creates immense fallout. And the darkest shade has the worst and messiest fallout out of them all. This would be worth it if the pigment was more then just "ok". But thats all they are.
The primer was surprising because it was creamy and it did work. But after about a week the primer became hard and chalky just like the shadows. I had to stop even trying to use it because it was making me mad. The illuminator was the exact same way. I used it in the corner of my eyes, the center of my bottom lip or just over my shadow for some extra sparkle. And just like the primer it became hard and the sparkle made it feel gritty.
(Central Park)

(Central Park)

(Central Park)

Pros: pigment. packaging. portable.
Cons: chalky. fallout. bad primer. bad illuminator.

The bottom line is I won't be buying this again. I did not enjoy it at all and the cons definitely out way the pros in my opinion, and I threw it away after taking the pictures for this blog.
I won't even waste my time putting my thumbs down for this palette

Home made shadow palette and gift palette

So yesterday at about 2 A.M I decided that I was going to depot the shadows that I could and make my own palettes and create more room in my makeup drawers. So i grab my shadows and tested to see which ones could handle being depotted and came up with 55 shadows, 3 CD cases, alot of ribbon, beads and hot glue.I decided that one palette would be filled with square shadows, and one with round.

The third I made because i was still feeling creative and is a surprise. The round palette is a classic black and white. White base, black bows, and a pearl bead in the bow. There is also a red rose in the corner, which i decided is going to be on all the palettes I make, like a signature. The inside cover also has the brand name and color of the shadows.

This actually happens to be the first palette I made, it came out sort of messy, Uneven, wrapping paper, random beads, but I am pleased with it non the less. I think it looks great!
This is my square palette. I covered it with wrapping paper i liked because it was super old, falling apart. I love the copper color and the designs on it, which i emphasized with the beads. The corner has my signature rose and the inside cover has the brand names and shadow colors.
This is my surprise palette. I think it looks the best, and came out the best.  If I would have known that this palette would come out this way, I would have made it for myself. HA. If your confused, I made this palette as a gift. I am not sure who is going to receive it yet, but I am definitely giving it away .

Its a mostly neutral palette made out of loose shadow pots I had from an ULTA kit. There are some color to this palette, just because I think its nice to have some pops of color. I also added a silver, white and black for the classic smokey eye look. I used almost only ribbon all over this palette. There are a few simple touches that make it stand out. Like the 3 pictures on the inside, which is women from the Victorian age, just a beautiful inspiration, plus the beads on the bows, and my signature which is a rose in the corner.

I am very pleased with how these palettes
turned out and I hope that the recipient of
the gift palette thinks the same.
Two thumbs up for me :)

L'Oreal HIP Color Presso Lipgloss

This is my favorite lip gloss of ALL time. I love every thing about this gloss. The tube it's in. The colors they put together. The fact that you can mix them together for the shade you want. The feel, smell, taste.
I wasn't really into coral/peach or pink colors but this has got me into them. I was on the L'Oreal website and you can create a beauty profile there and from that profile the site will show you what colors from which products you should try and the website suggested this for me.
One day I had to go to CVS to return an awful mascara i bought the other day, but instead of just returning it I decided why not exchange it for something different, so i scooped this up and couldn't wait to put it on. The package was open and I was applying it before we reached the car. And that's all it took, i take it with me everyday now.
The formula is thick and a bit sticky, which not everyone likes, but I love it, thats what helps it stay on your lips longer. It finishes with a nice sheen, and the color i mix it to is perfect, it even got my boyfriend to comment on how great my lips looked. It smells sweet and tastes sweet. (also my boyfriend doesen't like to kiss me if i have anything on my lips, even chap stick, but he doesn't mind kissing me with this on)
(snazzy)

(snazzy)

(top right:coral/peach, bottom right: pink, left: snazzy)

Pros: Thick, customizable, sheen, smell, taste
Cons: price, sticky
This is a little on the pricey side, but I have spent more on worse lip glosses. Definitely going to buy more colors.
Two thumbs way up up up

L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

I never used liquid foundation before, only pressed powder, and not a drug store brand because I thought it would be too difficult to find my color. But a couple months ago i started noticing that the pressed powder was starting to make me look like the loose powders did, which i hated. Loose powders did not blend into my skin, more like sat on top of my skin, leaving a powdery, almost sand-like look on my skin. So I began searching online for liquid foundation and I've been seeing some reviews on Rimmel London's Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation and decided to ask my boyfriend to take me to my local Ulta store and just figure out what color I was, but one of the workers suggested True Match. She pulled out the shade matching swatch and found the shade that disappeared into my skin, (though at least 3 disappeared, we just picked which one we thought would be best) and I am absolutely glad she did. I like the glass bottle it comes in, i just wish it had a pump. The color is almost a perfect match and blends into my skin very easily, leaving a natural finish on my oily skin. Plus it doesn't break me out! Huge plus. Even my boyfriend noted how good it looked (and he doesn't lie when it comes to telling me if something is ugly on me, evenv if it hurts.)
(N1 soft ivory)

(N1 soft ivory)

Pros: natural, dewy finish. Blend-able. Doesn't break out my sensitive skin. Medium coverage that is able to hide my red cheeks and forehead.
Cons: no pump which can lead to a mess. The fact you have many shades that could work, and you have to guess the right one, or that you need two different shades to mix together to get your right shade.

Bottom line is I will definitely repurchase. Not right away because I do want to try out other kinds, but for the price, and the finish, and the available colors, i will recommend this highly.

Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow 8 Pan

So I was shopping at Target one day, getting some much needed clothes when i have some extra money, so what do i do? I go stroll through the makeup section of course :)
I was looking for some purple eyeshadow when I came across Maybelline, I heard some good reviews on this pan and decided to get it. But the only one they had was the Sunbaked Neutral pan. I enjoy browns/coppers/greens so I decided to get this one instead.
And boy am I glad I did. I love every single color in this palette. It can give me my everyday neutral look and can build up to become more dramatic. Its super portable, i mean, if I go on a trip all i truly need is this palette because it has all the colors I need. There are a combination of matte, shimmer and frost shadows.
I'm glad Maybelline reformulated their shadows because this doesn't crease or fade on me, and it isn't chalky. I guess Maybelline finally got something right in my book.
(sunbaked neutrals)

(sunbaked neutrals)

(sunbaked neutrals)

Pros: portable. affordable. easy to apply and remove. blend-able. great colors.
Cons: the frosted shades can end up putting glitter on your face. if you have darker skin (i'm porcelain like) the colors might not show up
Bottom line is get this if you come across it. I'm going to go out and get the rest of the pans.

Milani Eye Tech Liquid Liner

This is my HG liquid liner. I don't know what it is, but I have a hard time dealing with liquid liner that works like dipping the tip into an ink well. I originally was using the L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner for the felt tip applicator but then switched over to Physician's Formula Eye Definer Felt-Tip Eye Marker and completely hated it. So about a year ago i was searching for a new felt tip liner and came across the Milani Eye Tech. This is like a tiny pen with a thin felt tip applicator, and if your like me, you'll love it. I was skeptical because the last pen type I used was awful, but no other liquid liner can compare to the Milani Eye Tech (to me at least). I love the glossy, true black finish it leaves. There is no smudging or flaking which i appreciate on my greasy eyelids. Its easy to use and can give you a thin or thick line. Its about the size of a lipstick and unscrews like a mascara, making it portable and I love how they made the tube gold.

Pros: true black, glossy finish. No flaking. No smudging. Felt tip applicator. Portable. Secure cap. Cute packaging.
Cons: Since its so small your hand is up in your eye, when applying it. Watery, takes a minute or two to dry.
Bottom line is: buy this. Its affordable and works wonderfully. Why spend a lot of money on a high end brand when this one works just as well, maybe even better, and is wallet friendly?
Two thumbs up up up

Maybelline VolumeXLSeduction Lip Plumper

I love lip plumpers. I feel that my lips aren't necessarily thin, more deflated looking, with a lot of lines in them, which makes me feel weird since I'm only 21. I picked this up on an outing with my grandma, because one I enjoyed the color tremendously, I like how sleek and metallic the tube is and I liked how it was a lip plumper, but I decided to put it back, for a the L'Oreal HIP mascara. I vowed that when I could, I'd grab this again.
Last week I caught a mistake on one of my boyfriend's receipts in time for him to go and fix it, saving him some money. Which I then got out of him by convincing him to spend the saved cash on me, by buying me this lip plumper.
I used it immediately.
(peachy flush #405)

(peachy flush #405)

(peachy flush #405)

My boyfriend noted that it fills out some of the creases in my lips, that the color was good, and that my lips were slightly more plump. There was a numbing effect that turned into a slight tingle over time. It smells like candy and tastes pretty decent. The formula is not too thick but coats my lips well, leaving a nice sheen and when it wears off my lips are soft. The tip is hard plastic with about 6 holes in it where the product comes out. One twist of the bottom is all you need because plenty of product comes out, which i enjoy.
Pros: good pigmentation, smell, taste. Sleek and attractive tube. A little goes a long way and does not irritate my skin if it goes outside of my lip line. Leaves my lips feeling soft.
Cons: doesn't actually plump. Too pricey for a product that doesn't do as it claims. Doesn't stay on my lips long.
Bottom line is I would re-buy this, but only as a lip gloss, not a plumper, and only because I truly enjoy the color.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette

I saw this palette being used by Emily Eddington, or Emilynoel83 on her blog and her YouTube videos (www.beautybroadcast.net http://www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83
I had never really seen many Wet 'n' Wild products at my local drugstores, i mean there's a section for them, but its very tiny, and its never stocked really. But luck caught me by surprise when my boyfriend came into my bedroom at 4 A.M on black Friday, waking me up with catalogs for sales. He wants to go to Kmart and buy a video game. I agree as long as he will put up with me going through all the makeup. So at 6 A.M i dragged myself out of bed, got a coffee and headed down to Kmart.
I was HUGELY disappointed, not by the makeup, but by the fact that nothing was jumping out at me, nothing popped out and made me think "oooo i have to buy this" But I decided to look through the Wet 'n' Wild section since I don't come across this brand too often, and it's usually affordable so I wouldn't feel bad if it turned out to be a crap product. Then I saw this palette and remembered reading good reviews on a few sites and decided to get it. Why not? It was only 2 dollars. They only had Vanity left (which was fine with me since i mostly prefer browns and golds), though i would have enjoyed Greed, Lust and Pride.
The first thing I did when I got home was sleepy, but when I woke up I used this palette.
(vanity)

(vanity)
No flash
(vanity)
My camera does not do these swatches justice

This palette is amazing, and for the price, its unbeatable. They are extremely soft and super pigmented, I can just lightly dab my finger into the shadows and get the color on. I love that there are 3 matte, and 3 shimmer shades. I enjoy having options. The colors are all beautiful and with 6 shades you can make different looks. This palette gives me my perfect natural look, a look thats good for work or on a weekday and the colors blend easily. I even use the shimmer white in the middle of my bottom lip and on my cupids bow to give my lips a fuller look. Wet N' Wild has been coming out with some amazing products, turning from a brand I'd spend a dollar on and use as play makeup as a child into a brand I'd spend more money on and use as an adult. And this palette proves that.
Pros: cheap price, good pigmentation, convenient, colors that complement each other and blend well.
Cons: Fallout, the applicators provided are awful, the packaging, and you need eyeshadow primer.
For me the cons are easily fixed and the pros outweigh the cons.
Two thumbs up

L'Oreal HIP Mascara

This is my HG mascara. I absolutely love it and cannot live without it. I never knew the L'Oreal made a HIP mascara because it has never been at my local CVS or Rite Aid. I would see these tutorials and YouTube videos with this mascara and thought it a shame because it must have been discontinued before i even knew it existed. WRONG! It was hiding at Walgreens this entire time.  I went into a Walgreens with my grandma randomly one day and there it was, and i had to have it. From the minute I opened it I loved it, the brush wasn't big, but full. There was no scent, the formula was nice to my sensitive eyes. No flaking, no clumps, no smudging. The color is dramatic. It adds volume to the base of my lashes and then lengthens them as well. It does everything I want it to! The very next day I decided to only wear mascara and through my glasses my grandma commented on how amazing my lashes looked! I think I might just go and stock up on this mascara just in case it gets taken off the shelves.

Two thumbs way up, if i could, I'd throw my whole body up.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Stain

This lip stain is not one of my most used, because I personally just don't like it that much. I bought it thinking I was going to enjoy it as much as the OutLast lip stain, but to me, it was a fail. I wish I would have returned it so I could have gotten something I would have enjoyed.
PROS: marker-style application, inexpensive.
CONS: tastes bitter, dries out my lips, comes out much darker then advertised so i thought putting a gloss over it to help, nope, where ever the gloss went the stain came off, no staying power (so can it actually be a stain?)
(Touch of Toffee)

(Touch of Toffee)

(Touch of Toffee)

So to put it plain and simply, I will not be repurchasing this item, nor will I recommend it. I don't own many Maybelline products and I'm starting to wonder if it's because they have all been fails (for me). I'm not sure, but this definitely is, two thumbs way way down.

L'Oreal HIP Eye shadows

I am obsessed with the L'Oreal HIP line. This is one thing that L'Oreal has done very well. I have more HIP items then any other brand. I am extremely please with their eye shadows, i only have three so far, but they are well used.
There are 5 different kinds of shadows in this line, metallic shadow, crystal shadow, matte shadow, bright shadow and a concentrated shadow. All together there are 40 different duos in different finishes! Thats amazing, to me at least.
(charged, cheeky, dynamic)

(charged, cheeky, dynamic)

(charged)

(cheeky)

(dynamic)

The three i have are Charged which is a metallic shadow duo and Cheeky and Dynamic which are both concentrated shadow duos. And just like the name suggests they are very pigmented. There is some fallout because they're so soft, so to fix that all you need is to dip your brush into the color. A lot truly goes a long way. The colors they put together are creative and i just adore them, if i could own them all right now i definitely would. Two thumbs up, a must buy.
<3

Milani Liquif'Eye eyeliner

I love Milani products, and this came at me by surprise because of how amazing i find it to be. This product is a serious dupe to the Urban Decay pencil liners. They're soft, pigmented and long lasting. The only problem is they only come in 5 colors! Black, brown, aqua, silver and gold. But these will run you about 5 dollars while Urban Decay will be around 18. With these around, the only reason I'd spend money on Urban Decay liners is to get different colors.
(silver, brown, black)

(silver, brown, black)
They're suppose to give the feel of a liquid liner, and to me, it delivers. I cannot live without these liners now that I have found them. I have showered with them on and they haven't budged, and my cousin has gone through my mother funeral, with all the crying, and they haven't budged. I give this product two thumb, two hands, two arms up!
Love love love it.
