Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow Review

Can you say obsessed?
Because that is what I am when it comes to these new cream gel shadows.
I was obsessed ever since I started hearing about them online a few months ago, and seeing them pop up on blogs about a month ago, and I just KNEW I HAD to have them. So after traveling to 8 CVS', 2 Walgreens, a Rite Aid and a Kmart, multiple time I might add, over the course of December, I found them, and so far have only gotten 3.
I picked out the 3 that I knew I would use as bases if they didn't make it as straight up eye shadows.
(Tough as Taupe, Bold Gold, Bad to the Bronze)

(Tough as Taupe, Bold Gold, Bad to the Bronze)

The one I think is going to be the most popular is Tough as Taupe. I mean, that was the color I was specifically on the hunt for.
Tough as Taupe: This is a creamy looking grey/purple taupe that is completely matte. I thought for sure that this one would be one Maybelline would make shimmery or satiny, but no, matte, and its amazing. This is a great shadow for everyday use, or if you want something you can do very quickly. It is also a great base for other taupes. What i like to do it put this all over my lid, the then I take a shimmery taupe color and put that one the center of my lid. Its the best.
Bold Gold: This is pretty standard when it comes to shadow collections. There is almost always a gold thrown in. This is very pretty, metallic,  but it is typical. The only thing that makes it stand out is that it is new, and its paired up with the amazing formula that are these shadows. Plus its a great base to make any powder gold shadow look INSANE. It Doesn't look too bad on its own either.
Bad to the Bronze: This is also a metallic shadow, which i like because it goes with the gold even more so. It is a coppery bronze, so I was afraid it was going to look more orangey on me, because that tends to happen, but on my skin it turns darker, to a more brown bronze.

The formula of these shadows are amazing. I'm not so sure about the 24HR claim, because after about 10 hours the color seems to look intensity, giving it a faded look. But it doesn't crease, or transfer, or smudge once it sets. Its creamy to the touch. I find it better to use your fingers when applying this product, it transfers from your finger quite well. I also love that it comes in a glass jar. I only wish that there was a greater color range, but I'm sure Maybelline is going to release more colors.

I am absolutely in love, obsessed, with these shadows.
Highly recommended to EVERYONE.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Foundation

So this is a foundation claiming to "instantly erase lines and creases, making skin look lifted" Its a super concentrated makeup with spf 18 , Goji Berry and Collagen. It says its for all skin types and is a multi-patented innovation with 7 years of research.

On top is a anti-microbial sponge ball where the foundation comes out of. I thought the ball was innovative, it works like copper, in which it sanitizes itself, too bad I don't think the ball works, and they don't give you and option to unscrew the cap to get the foundation out for yourself without having to rely on twisting it out through the sponge ball.

The color is a great match for me, that is about the only positive I have for this, since I sort of hate it. How the foundation comes out is inconsistent. I'll twist and it'll come out reasonably fine, then other times nothing with come out, so I twist and twist to no avail, then all of a sudden there is too much foundation. Annoying. It is incredibly hard to blend, so if you accidentally  get too much foundation on your face, ooppsie, you'll probably end up looking cakey. You have to put this on very lightly to get it to work well.

So this foundation makes my skin look and feel like an oil slick. It is AWFUL. I blame the spf but it is just bad. It has an spf smell and feel so so heavy. I have never had a foundation feel like i put a mask on before now. Its just a heavy feeling, horrible smelling, oily mess. Ugh.

Another thing the spf does is give an awful white cast with flash. Do you see that? It literally looks like a mask. I didn't think the spf was high enough to do this but it is, so I suggest if you ever use this, don't take flash photos.
Besides that, there is a good thing. It does make my skin look good. Covers up the red and dark spots, so thats nice, I suppose. I can't return this (because I lost the receipt) So I'm going to make it work some how because I really don't want it to waste. Maybe I'll use it for when filming videos, so I don't waste my HG foundation up fast, but I'm not sure.
I don't recommend this

maybelline dream mousse concealer

Let me start off by saying that I am so excited for June 9th! I have an interview with Macy's to work at one of their beauty counters. This is my dream job, selling makeup, talking about beauty to people and doing makeup on others! I can't wait! :)
So why not do some reviews in order to celebrate even getting a chance to interview.
This is my all time favorite concealer, my HG concealer if you will. Its not too watery and its creamy enough to blend out beautifully. Unfortunately this product is discontinued. BUT! Luckily it is in stock in BigLots. I have backups of this concealer that I bought at BigLots.
Anywho, the consistency is very mousse-y? Which is really cool to me. Its like having a whipped product, which it helps it spead and blend more effortlessly. Its the perfect under eye concealer and around the edges of my nose concealer but its far to dry for my already dry blemishes. But that doesn't even matter to me because I bought it to be and under eye concealer and it does its job!

The only problem for me is that it settles into the fine lines under my eyes, so if I don't use a foundation or tinted moisturizer you'll notice those fine lines, but every other, crappier concealer does that on me. It also dries to a nice matte finish on me which I enjoy because I don't want more notice to my under eye area.

Theres nothing to dispute, besides being too dry for my  dry blemishes this is the perfect concealer. And even though it is discontinued I recommend finding a BigLots and stocking up!

Going One by One: A Mascara Review

I woke up on this Sunday morning to a gloomy, rainy Southern California day, watching stories on the SyFy channel about alien abductions and dragon theories. This made me want to do a mascara review, what else?
The newest mascara to the Maybelline Volum' Express line is the One by One.
Maybelline claims to, and I quote:
"Finally, bold volume without any of the bulk.
• Patented Lash Catcher™ brush has 3 bristles per lash to make every lash count
• Catches, coats and de-clumps each lash to make them all fatter and flirtier
• Instant clump-free volume
• Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested
• Washable, also available in Waterproof formula"
Just look at the brush.
The tube is in the lines signature shape, with a red bottle and turquoise lettering. The brush is about the same size as The Colossal Volum' Express brush but is fatter in the middle and tapers at the ends. The brush is plastic and had many little bristles to "catch, coat and de-clump"

So the question becomes: does this mascara work, or is it forgettable?
Well, this mascara is my new favorite mascara. It does everything as it claims. Those extra little bristles really do grab onto each lash to separate and define them. The formula is thick but it does not clump and it definitely adds volume. It doesn't promise to add length, and for some people it doesn't, but for my short lashes they do! And it can hold a curl!
Just take a look at the pictures, and see for yourself.

Why hasn't this mascara been around my entire life?
My absent minded boyfriend even commented on how luscious my lases were looking.
The bottom line is i have no cons for this product. For me, its all pros.
I highly recommend this mascara.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

I finally found this lipstick in Born With It after searching many different places and coming up empty handed. I was getting back into lipsticks but since I wasn't very comfortable with red (well let's face it, I wasn't really comfortable with any lipstick, but i wanted to push myself) I was going to go for nudes, and I wanted the perfect nude, the one everyone was raving about.
And just like magic, one day I randomly went into RiteAid and couldn't help myself. I had to browse the makeup section.
Hallelujah! There it was, I snatched it up and I am glad that I listened to the hype surrounding this product because this is my HG nude lipstick, or just my HG lipstick in general. It is always in my purse, and I wear it almost every day.  It's the perfect pinky nude color that fits so well with my skin tone and color. I have gotten many compliments on it, so that means its a keeper :)

Pros: Creamy. Moisturizing. Luster Finish. Beautiful color. Buildable color
Cons: Can feel gritty. Glittery.

I absolutely love this lipstick. This is a definite cannot live without it product. Definitely a repurchase.
Two thumbs way up up up.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow

I really wanted to like this palette, but I can't make myself do anything. This yeah my father doesn't want to celebrate Christmas, or even be in town because it reminds him of my mom too much, so he bought me a new T.V and gave me some money because he felt bad that I don't get Christmas. So what did I do? I bought other people presents and bought stuff for myself, and by stuff I mean makeup. This palette was one of the pieces I picked up.
The colors are beautiful in the pan, and the colors are coordinated wonderfully, but its just... bleh. The colors are so SHEER. Its ridiculous. And annoying. They're sheer, glittery and have glitter fallout.
The colors are super soft and incredibly blendable, but without primer, they blend right into one color, one mud color. There is so much potential with this quad it drives me nuts. I'm not losing hope though. I'm going to try this using wet brushes, and hopefully I like it better.
(Green With Envy)

Pros: blendable. soft. wet/dry application.
Cons: sheer. glittery. fallout. needs primer.
I'm going to keep trying this product until I get fed up enough. I've also heard good things about the other quads, so I might try those.

Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow 8 Pan

So I was shopping at Target one day, getting some much needed clothes when i have some extra money, so what do i do? I go stroll through the makeup section of course :)
I was looking for some purple eyeshadow when I came across Maybelline, I heard some good reviews on this pan and decided to get it. But the only one they had was the Sunbaked Neutral pan. I enjoy browns/coppers/greens so I decided to get this one instead.
And boy am I glad I did. I love every single color in this palette. It can give me my everyday neutral look and can build up to become more dramatic. Its super portable, i mean, if I go on a trip all i truly need is this palette because it has all the colors I need. There are a combination of matte, shimmer and frost shadows.
I'm glad Maybelline reformulated their shadows because this doesn't crease or fade on me, and it isn't chalky. I guess Maybelline finally got something right in my book.
(sunbaked neutrals)

Pros: portable. affordable. easy to apply and remove. blend-able. great colors.
Cons: the frosted shades can end up putting glitter on your face. if you have darker skin (i'm porcelain like) the colors might not show up
Bottom line is get this if you come across it. I'm going to go out and get the rest of the pans.

Maybelline VolumeXLSeduction Lip Plumper

I love lip plumpers. I feel that my lips aren't necessarily thin, more deflated looking, with a lot of lines in them, which makes me feel weird since I'm only 21. I picked this up on an outing with my grandma, because one I enjoyed the color tremendously, I like how sleek and metallic the tube is and I liked how it was a lip plumper, but I decided to put it back, for a the L'Oreal HIP mascara. I vowed that when I could, I'd grab this again.
Last week I caught a mistake on one of my boyfriend's receipts in time for him to go and fix it, saving him some money. Which I then got out of him by convincing him to spend the saved cash on me, by buying me this lip plumper.
I used it immediately.
(peachy flush #405)

(peachy flush #405)

(peachy flush #405)

My boyfriend noted that it fills out some of the creases in my lips, that the color was good, and that my lips were slightly more plump. There was a numbing effect that turned into a slight tingle over time. It smells like candy and tastes pretty decent. The formula is not too thick but coats my lips well, leaving a nice sheen and when it wears off my lips are soft. The tip is hard plastic with about 6 holes in it where the product comes out. One twist of the bottom is all you need because plenty of product comes out, which i enjoy.
Pros: good pigmentation, smell, taste. Sleek and attractive tube. A little goes a long way and does not irritate my skin if it goes outside of my lip line. Leaves my lips feeling soft.
Cons: doesn't actually plump. Too pricey for a product that doesn't do as it claims. Doesn't stay on my lips long.
Bottom line is I would re-buy this, but only as a lip gloss, not a plumper, and only because I truly enjoy the color.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Stain

This lip stain is not one of my most used, because I personally just don't like it that much. I bought it thinking I was going to enjoy it as much as the OutLast lip stain, but to me, it was a fail. I wish I would have returned it so I could have gotten something I would have enjoyed.
PROS: marker-style application, inexpensive.
CONS: tastes bitter, dries out my lips, comes out much darker then advertised so i thought putting a gloss over it to help, nope, where ever the gloss went the stain came off, no staying power (so can it actually be a stain?)
(Touch of Toffee)

So to put it plain and simply, I will not be repurchasing this item, nor will I recommend it. I don't own many Maybelline products and I'm starting to wonder if it's because they have all been fails (for me). I'm not sure, but this definitely is, two thumbs way way down.
