Tarte Puttin' On The Glitz Limited-Edition Color Collection & Clutch

Let me start off by saying this collection is GORGEOUS  and well worth the money. It comes with 18 beautiful eye shadows, 1 Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush, 1 Amazonian Clay shimmering powder, 1 Park Ave. Princess  Amazonian Clay bronzer, a maracuja infused lipgloss AND a reusable purse with credit card slots that you snap the palettes into. I have been eyeing this collection for a while now and couldn't justify spending $48 on one collection when that can buy me a lot more from the drugstore.
But after having a little extra money i bit the bullet and got this from ULTA and I am glad i did.
The packaging is a silver faux reptile skin on the outside and beautiful royal purple on the inside that I think is becoming Tarte's signature color. I like the idea of the purse, but the execution is a little off. There's a mirror, credit card slots and an elastic band for your lipgloss. The two snaps are so you can put in one of your three palettes and take it on the go. The only problem is that it is so tight a fit I'm afraid that the cards would dig into the shadow, also, I never really take shadows out and about with me. Maybe I'll take a lipgloss, eyeliner,  blotting papers, but not eyeshadow. Anywho....
This is the maracuja-infused PureOptic lipgloss. Its made to be universal so that it can be paired up with any look you make from this collection. Its a beautiful dusty medium pink color. Like a "my lip color, but better" I love it, its gorgeous.
(Girl's Night Out)
This palette is for that dramatic, night on the town look. The shades are gorgeous, pigmented and leans towards purples and taupes. It comes with an Amazonian Clay highlighter and the two darkest shades are matte.

(Walk in the Park)
This palette gives you neutral shadows. The kind you'd wear during the day on the weekend, but might be a little too dark for work. It comes with the Park Ave Princess Amazonian Clay bronzer and has 3 matte shadow, a light, medium and dark brown. The light gold is a little gritty but beautiful. Its mostly brown shades with an emerald green.

(Nine-to-Five)
Just like how the name of the palette sounds, this is perfect for work, 9-5. The colors are soft and subtle, perfect for daily use and work. it comes with and Amazonian Clay blush and has one matte shade. The shades are half brown toned and half purple toned, making this my favorite palette out of all 3.

I believe that this collection is a must buy. The shadows are gorgeous, pigmented and velvety. I can't believe it took me soooo long to try Tarte.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Foundation

So this is a foundation claiming to "instantly erase lines and creases, making skin look lifted" Its a super concentrated makeup with spf 18 , Goji Berry and Collagen. It says its for all skin types and is a multi-patented innovation with 7 years of research.

On top is a anti-microbial sponge ball where the foundation comes out of. I thought the ball was innovative, it works like copper, in which it sanitizes itself, too bad I don't think the ball works, and they don't give you and option to unscrew the cap to get the foundation out for yourself without having to rely on twisting it out through the sponge ball.

The color is a great match for me, that is about the only positive I have for this, since I sort of hate it. How the foundation comes out is inconsistent. I'll twist and it'll come out reasonably fine, then other times nothing with come out, so I twist and twist to no avail, then all of a sudden there is too much foundation. Annoying. It is incredibly hard to blend, so if you accidentally  get too much foundation on your face, ooppsie, you'll probably end up looking cakey. You have to put this on very lightly to get it to work well.

So this foundation makes my skin look and feel like an oil slick. It is AWFUL. I blame the spf but it is just bad. It has an spf smell and feel so so heavy. I have never had a foundation feel like i put a mask on before now. Its just a heavy feeling, horrible smelling, oily mess. Ugh.

Another thing the spf does is give an awful white cast with flash. Do you see that? It literally looks like a mask. I didn't think the spf was high enough to do this but it is, so I suggest if you ever use this, don't take flash photos.
Besides that, there is a good thing. It does make my skin look good. Covers up the red and dark spots, so thats nice, I suppose. I can't return this (because I lost the receipt) So I'm going to make it work some how because I really don't want it to waste. Maybe I'll use it for when filming videos, so I don't waste my HG foundation up fast, but I'm not sure.
I don't recommend this

All About TheBalm, A Review

A little bit ago I had a bad week. And when I mean bad week, I mean every single day was a knock you down in the dirt, kick you while you're down and pour salt in your wounds, kind of day. Needless to say by day 7 i was tired and in need of something, anything to calm me down, help me relax, make up for one of the worst weeks of all time.So I decided to spend a few days at my boyfriends place, get away for a while and  I had a little extra spending money and was planning to maybe hit up BigLots, Walgreens, where the usual bargainista shops for beauty. Then spending the rest on him. Get him something fun. Unfortunately for him, and lucky for me, he took me to TJMaxx.

I have only been to 1 TJMaxx before in my city and it was GOD awful. Everything I cared to look at was stolen, touched or ruined. Plus they never had anything worth buying in the first place. His was AMAZING. I can't remember the last time I was so in love with a store. And they had TheBalm, I thought that was an online myth. I found so many things that my boyfriend told me to spend on the money on myself, that I deserved it, bless his heart. Well I got 2 gift sets and a palette, my total for them being about 65 dollars, trust me, thats a steal! Whew that was a long back story, lets get started!

First, can we start off with the cutest packaging ever! Even the boyfriend was impressed, and pointed out all the little details I missed. I'm saving all the boxes because I'm just super impressed and obsessed with it. Moving on.

Cheater! Mascara
Aside from the cute tube that matches the box, this mascara is just bleh. For me at least. I had to press it into my lashes to get any mascara on my lashes and found that I had to push so hard I got mascara on my lids, which is more than annoying. It didn't really do anything for my lashes that a 2 dollar mascara wouldn't do. I really wanted to like this mascara, but it is more than underwhelming. Not recommending this.

Hot Ticket Nail Polish in Princess
I knew I was going to at least love the color of this polish from the first time I saw it. A taupy- champagne color, its definitely something I gravitate towards when buy polish. It goes on smoothly and evenly and has lasted me about 5 days. I am completely smitten with it.

Mary-Lou Manizer
I Have been lusting over this luminizer for a while now. I don't know what it is but I am a sucker for highlights and luminizing powders. And when I found this in a gift set at TJMaxx, I HAD to get it. It is a gorgeous golden highlight that is velvety smooth and pigmented. It blends so beautifully and effortlessly. This is quickly becoming my favorite highlighter.

Overshadow in Work is Overrated
This is a lovely shimmering pink champagne mineral shadow designed to go over shadow you already have on. So you can imagine that it can be quite sheer, but is buildable, letting it be a gorgeous shadow all on its own. This is soft, pigmented and shimmery, so you know what that means, FALLOUT! Yikes. But I wouldn't expect anything less from a loose shadow.

Balms Away Eye Makeup Breakup
This is a really interesting eye makeup remover. It is in a tin and reminds me of menthol-camphor, or Vaseline. The tin is locked unless you press on the little area that says "press" lol. And I love that!
I had wanted to get a waterproof eye makeup remover, you know the kind where its two liquids that you shake together, but I read the packaging of this and decided to get the set, what could it hurt? I am so happy I got this because it is insane how awesome it is. Within 30 seconds my eye makeup was gone with no oily residue and my lashes were actually softer thanks in part to all the vitamins inside. I am more than thrilled with this remover and I hear it lasts a long time.

Plump Your Pucker Gloss in Cocoa my Coconut
This is one of those products that I could have lived without honestly. Its a pretty tinted gloss, and it smells like cocoa butter and coconut, which is nice, but it doesn't plump, and to get the color I got in the picture, I had to put about 4 layers of gloss on. I mean, its ok, and now that I have it I'll use it, but its not something I'd go out and purchase, or recommend.

Shady Lady Palette
This was the main happiness of that shopping trip. This was the first thing I spotted and when I found out it was more than just the sleeve and it wasn't used, I was ecstatic. Finding this palette is what made me look around the beauty isle and find all the other TheBalm products. I am just so giddy that I finally got my hands on this palette. These colors are so so soft and go on like butter. Pigmented and beautiful. The last time I was so enamored with a palette was with the Naked palette. Plus the shadows last, i feel that I need to wear a primer just so that the shadows come off easy.

All in all I love everything I have by TheBalm, except for those few items. I definitely recommend almost everything I have, plus this brand,

N.Y.C. City Curls Mascara

A collage photo? You know what that means. Mobile blog post! Woooooooooooo

Anyway, I have to say I am sort of in love with this mascara. I bought it almost a month ago, picking it out because when I buy makeup, I pretty much have to get one of everything, which means, I tend to get mascaras. I always wanted to try an N.Y.C. mascara but just never got around to it, until now, obviously.

The price was a major factor in my purchase. At about 3 dollars its a bargain, and even if you hate this mascara, it was only 3 bucks, which is a lot better than paying 10 dollars for a crappy mascara, which has happened to me before. Plus! I always seem to find that N.Y.C. is on sale, so that makes it even more enticing.

The wand is pretty small, tapers at the end, has a slight curve, and is the natural bristles.. I really love this wand, I think its my perfect wand. I kind of want to use this wand in other mascaras. It is great and grabbing and finding those little lashes.

The formula holds my curls better than most mascaras, which really surprised me because it isn't waterproof. Now since I started using a lash boosting serum my lashes are not as small as they use to be, but they're not long either. They are pin straight and thin. This mascara doesn't necessarily add length, but it definitely thickens and holds a curl. I don't actually think it would curl without the help of an eyelash curler, but I always curl my lashes so that point is moot to me.

The color isn't as black as you can get, and there is only one shade for this mascara, but it is dark enough for me and I only need one coat, ONE! for my lashes to look they way they do.

I recommend this mascara. I am definitely going to repurchase this, and for the price, maybe I can buy an eye shadow as well. Hahaha, oh makeup addiction.

Essence Lipstick in Creamy Nude

So once again I am blogging on my phone. Which I loooooove. But since it can be hard to upload multiple photos while on a mobile device I decided to use my smarts and said to myself "Cassidy, why don't you download an app that can create collages so all the pictures you want to show will upload as one?" I patted myself on the back for that one. So now you know, if you see a collage, it's. Mobile blog. Enjoy.

*side note* I already wrote this out and loveddd it! Somehow it got erased as it failed to upload. So I'm re-writing it. It's not gonna be as awesome or funny. Anywayyyyyy

This product can be found at ULTA, and is my new HG, favorite, obsessing over lipstick. I love Essence as a brand in general and think it deserves more press and acknowledgment and this lipstick should be the poster product.

Price- the price of this lipstick is insane! For a mere $2.50 you can own my favorite lipstick. I have paid A LOT more for a high end lipstick that ended up being crap. I suggest you go ahead, splurge a little and get.this lipstick

Packaging- I actually really like the packaging. It looks so chic and I love the color. Its supposed to actually match the color of the lipstick. I've heard some people say they don't like it because it feels really light so it feels cheap but to me that isn't a problem. I rather have a light feeling lipstick that looks really chic compared to a really heavy lipstick that will be weighing down my pocket.

Color- This is my perfect nude lip color. It's a neutral lipstick and when I stay neutral I mean The natural pigmentation of your lips changes the color so it won't be the exact same color on everybody. On me it becomes more of a brown nude shade than a pink nude shade. I always wondered why nude lipsticks never looked quite right on me and it was because I was always bought pink nude shades instead of brown nude shades.

Everything else- the pigmentation isn't as great as some other lipsticks. The color lasts about 2 hours before you have to reapply and I have heard from some other people that if your lips are un even with pigmentation that the color might not go on as evenly. I am lucky though because my lips are lightly pigmented and are evenly pigmented so the color goes on great. It is a cream lipstick so it goes on very smooth and has a glossy look and feel. Overall I am absolutely in love with this lipstick. It is my perfect nude lipstick and I recommend it to everybody. I believe that the fact that it doesn't last very long can be overlooked for how amazingly priced it is and how awesome the color is.

Wet N' Wild Cougar Attack Nail Polish

So let me start out by saying I am posting this through my new phone. And all of the pictures were taken with this phone. And I happen to think that the pictures taken with this phone are better than the pictures I've taken so far with my actual camera. Which can make sense since this phone was more expensive than my camera. My boyfriend actually bought me the phone for the specific reasons that it has an amazing camera can take amazing hd videos and is basically like a little computer in your hands which will let me blog are post videos to youtube from wherever I am.
So let's get started, cougar attack by Wet N' Wild has to be one of my favorite new nail polishs this season. It screams Autumn  with the brown base and copper glitter and anything that has glitter in it just screams my name. After 1coat I was worried it wasn't going to live up to my hopes but with the second coat it was completely opaque and I got excited. The color looks exactly like it does in the bottle which can sometimes be hard when you're dealing with glitter polishes. I am so completely in love with this nail polish I think its hands down going to be my favorite nail polish that has come out this season. Check out the pictures below and you will fall in love with this polish as well.
Two thumbs up.

Review: NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Eye Shadow

So I am pretty sure I'm in love with NYX Pearl Mania loose eye shadows. Initially I did only purchase these shadows for their brightness because I was looking for bright shadows to do rainbow eyes with and these run about $2.99 so I was excited to find something cheap just in case it didn't work, it wouldn't be a lot of money wasted like if I bought bare minerals. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was ecstatic. The colors are true to how they look in the bottle, pigmented, bright, soft, blend-able. Its everything I want that even some 15 dollar loose shadows never gave me.

I seem to be catching myself gravitate towards these shadows on a daily basis. I was always nervous doing bright makeup and leaving the house. I never thought I was one of "those girls" The ones who rock the bright, crazy makeup while they're out and about but these shadows have changed that. I now look to see how I can use these shadows so I can have a more interesting eye look. And Nude is by far my favorite highlight of all time (right now. ha)

I am definitely planning on going out and buying all of the rest of these shadows. I think they'd be a great addition to any collection, especially if you love loose shadows.

Pros: Many color options, pigmented, blend-able, soft, price, the pearl finish <3
Cons: Can fade quickly, can go on streaky.

I recommend these to everyone, because every girl needs loose eye shadow. And for the price, I think the cons can be overlooked, besides, the cons can be fixed easily.
Two Thumbs Up
