Eyebrows Make Your Face: NYX eyebrow cake powder

I love love love this product. I believe that eyebrows completely change your face, if I had to do only one makeup ritual in the morning, it would be doing my eyebrows. I use to use Smashbox's brow tech to go, which I do love, but it was like taking a crayon and drawing on your face with it, which I got over quickly, they only offer 2 colors and it costs almost 30 dollars. On the other hand the NYX eyebrow cake powder has 6 shades and is only 5 dollars, to me, thats a great value.

This kit contains 2 eyebrow colors, setting wax, a slanted brush for application and a round brush to shape and style your brows. It's super pigmented and little goes a long way, so don't think you need to fill your brush with powder, I just dip my brush into the lightest color. The colors can be used alone or blended together to find your most natural shade, and if you're like me and tired of eyebrow pencils, this powder is perfect. 

I'm so glad i stumbled upon this product, it goes on my brows easily and looks more natural. I love the fact that it comes with its own wax, and just like the colors a little goes a long way, I just press my finger lightly into the way and sweep it over my brows and that's all I need to keep my brows looking great all day/night. I give this a big 2 thumbs up, and if I had more thumbs, I'd put those up as well.

Diving Deeper into my Obsession

I'm sure I figured out part of why I seem to be so obsessed with makeup. 

Lets start with the fact that my mother wasn't strict, or crazy, she just wanted me to wait to wear makeup until i was 18. But there was a loophole to her rule, I was in high school show choir.

This meant: loud make-up, big lashes, flashy costumes along with the singing and dancing. In show choir you travel to different cities and perform in competitions, so you have to sing perfectly, dance all out, and also be able to be seen from stage. And i can't believe i forgot that i use to do makeup and eyelashes. But i only did it for competitions and shows. But that is how my makeup collection started.

Another time was one time, when I was 15, I went to my friends house early one day because she wanted to do my makeup, I wasn't really into it, I didn't really care about makeup, I wasn't a true girly girl. But the day she did my makeup I met a guy and later landed him as my first real boyfriend, and the makeup gave me the confidence to actually go up and talk to him.

After that one of my best friends taught me how to put eyeliner on because I didn't understand that it could go on top or on my water line. Ha!

Then in my senior year my best friend taught me how to put makeup on. We are the same skin color and tone so she was able to put on foundation and powder, she taught me about eyeshadow. And from there I really became enthralled with it. 

So i suppose this all came from not being able to really wear makeup in my house as a teenager, also my mother not teaching me, but then having my best friend teach me, and me wanting to be like her. Its been fun going down my makeup memory lane.

What's in my purse?

I understand that no one is reading my blog yet, so why would i do a "what's in my purse" blog post, since no one really cares but me, and i will tell you why! Because i care.... and i'm also bored. i also don't have any pictures, so here we go!


1. Hand sanitizer. The world is full of sticky, dirty messes. Hand sanitizer is a god send
2.Hand lotion with hand sanitizing beads in them, to moisturize and clean, i love multi-tasking.
3. My deodorant, not because i need it, but because sometimes i forget to put it on, or i fall asleep at my boyfriends house and in the morning i don't want him to know that i'm human and can smell bad. 
4. A wide toothed comb. My natural hair is wavy/ slightly curly and regular brushed can mat down your hair, make it frizzy, while wide toothed combs just lets your hair be.
5. My make-up case, which is currently holding 21 different pieces of make-up
6. Make-up remover wipes, because i wear make-up and its just smart
7. My Ipod touch with the headphones, and the charger.
8. Eyeglass case plus glasses


And there we go, thats my purse, and i have to say, its minimal, i usually have more things in there, like kaleidescope, finger puppets, or lanyards, just because you never know whats going to happen each day
